Terms and Conditions
By registering or visiting Tsz Shan Monastery ("Monastery"), or participating in any of its activities, you fully agree to the following:
    1. The Monastery is for spiritual practice and for promoting Buddhism. The Monastery is not intended to be a tourist attraction. Please remain quiet throughout your visit at the Monastery.
    2. You are advised to use public transport. Vehicles may be wheel clamped for unauthorized parking without prior notice.
    3. Any vehicle without a confirmed parking space will not be allowed to enter the Monastery. For persons with special needs, please call our Enquiry Hotline ((852) 2123-8666) in advance for assistance.
    4. Please present your confirmation e-mail or registration reference number and proof of identification upon entering the Monastery.
    5. No show or late arrival for thirty (30) minutes or more from the scheduled time of visit may be deemed as late cancellation.
    6. Please wear a visitor pass during your visit in the Monastery.
    7. Proper attire (e.g. sleeved tops, trousers, mid-calf dress or mid-calf pants) should be worn at all times throughout your visit in the Monastery. For example, sleeveless tops, miniskirts, hot pants, and shorts would be considered improper attire.
    8. Children under age 12 should be accompanied by an adult at all times in the Monastery. Please supervise your children at all times.
    9. No littering, spitting or shouting. Please keep the Monastery clean, quiet and peaceful.
    10. No smoking or lighting of incense sticks, joss paper, hazardous or inflammable items is allowed within the Monastery.
    11. No cigarette, alcoholic beverage, meat, seafood, incense stick, joss paper, hazardous or inflammable items is allowed in the Monastery.
    12. No chewing gum or bubble gum is allowed in the Monastery, and no eating or drinking is allowed in the non-designated areas in the Monastery.
    13. Pets are not allowed into the Monastery (except for guide dogs accompanying visually impaired persons).
    14. No activities, photography, video or other recording of any kind relating to or for media or commercial purposes is allowed anywhere at the Monastery unless with prior written permission from Tsz Shan Monastery Limited ("TSM").
    15. No photography or video or other recording is allowed inside the halls at the Monastery.
    16. No touching of any statues, religious items or plants is allowed in the Monastery.
    17. No business soliciting, publicizing, marketing, fund raising, distribution of printed materials of any kind or any other commercial activities is allowed in the Monastery.
    18. No unauthorized events, demonstrations, speeches or other unauthorized public gathering is allowed.
    19. You are responsible for your own personal property or belongings. TSM, its directors, employees and agents shall not be liable for any damage to or loss of the property or belongings of any person who expresses his interests to visit the Monastery or to participate in its activities or programmes whether through our online registration system or otherwise, and whether as a Registrant (see definition below) or through another Registrant, or any person who visits the Monastery or participates in its activities or programmes (visitors and participants are collectively referred as "Programme Participants"), whether such damage or loss is caused by negligence on the part of TSM, its directors, employees and agents or otherwise.
    20. Please follow the instructions of the staff of the Monastery at all times during your visit at the Monastery or when you participate in its programmes or activities (visits, programmes and activities of the Monastery are collectively referred to as "Programmes").
    21. Queue-jumping is strictly prohibited. You are not permitted to save places in queue or exit the queue and return for any reason.
    22. Without prejudice to any other provisions of these Terms and Conditions, TSM, its directors, employees and agents shall not be responsible or liable for any disputes, claims, liabilities, damages, losses, injuries, costs, expenses (including legal fees) or any consequences of any kind directly or indirectly relating to, in connection with or arising out of the (i) registering of any of the Programmes including but not limited to any malfunctioning or delayed response of our online registration system and any failure or delay in delivery of registration or confirmation or reminder notifications; or (ii) participation in any of the Programmes in any way, regarding any and all persons (including but not limited to the Registrants, Programme Participants, organizers, supporting organizations, persons involved in the Programmes including their officers, agents, representatives, contractors or any other third parties ("Persons")) or their property. Each of the Persons shall unconditionally and irrevocably defend, indemnify, keep indemnified and hold harmless TSM, its directors, employees and agents from and against all disputes, claims, liabilities, damages, losses, injuries, costs, expenses (including but not limited to legal fees) and any consequences of any kind directly or indirectly relating to, in connection with or arising out of any registering, participation in or involvement with the Programmes.
    23. Inclement Weather Arrangements

      Thunderstorm Warning The Monastery remains open, but some outdoor facilities will be closed and outdoor activities will be cancelled. Indoor activities will continue.
      Amber Rainstorm Warning / Red Rainstorm Warning / Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 1 or No. 3 The Monastery remains open, but some outdoor facilities may be closed and outdoor activities may be cancelled as determined by TSM at its sole absolute discretion.
      Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 8 or above Signal is hoisted between 6:30a.m. and 10:30a.m. The Monastery will be closed from 9:30a.m. to 1:30p.m..
      TSM may announce closure of the Monastery to the public on its website.
      Signal is hoisted and remains in effect at 10:30a.m. The Monastery will be closed from 1:30p.m. to 5:00p.m..
      TSM may announce closure of the Monastery to the public on its website.
      Signal is hoisted during opening hours The Monastery will be closed as soon as possible.
      TSM may announce closure of the Monastery to the public on its website.
      Black Rainstorm Warning Warning is issued between 6:30a.m. and 10:30a.m. The Monastery will be closed from 9:30a.m. to 1:30p.m..
      TSM may announce closure of the Monastery to the public on its website.
      Warning is issued and remains in effect at 10:30a.m. The Monastery will be closed from 1:30p.m. to 5:00p.m..
      TSM may announce closure of the Monastery to the public on its website.
      Warning is issued during opening hours The Monastery remains open. All outdoor facilities will be closed and all outdoor activities will be cancelled.
      All visitors are advised to remain indoors.
    24. TSM will not individually make any other announcement for scheduled visits that are disrupted by inclement weather.
    25. TSM does not charge any entrance fee.
    26. TSM does not endorse any for-profit third party to organize visits. Any arrangement by third party purporting to charge any fees for organizing visits to the Monastery is discouraged.
    27. Registrations can be made via our online registration system.
    28. The Monastery welcomes all visitors and registrations are on a "first come, first served" basis subject to the capacity quota of the Monastery. Please choose the available dates and entry times through our online registration system.
    29. An individual submitting a registering to visit the Monastery through our online registering system ("Registrant") should be 18 years of age or above at the time of registering to be eligible to submit a registration.
    30. An individual Registrant can register for up to six (6) Registrants including the Registrant himself/herself.
    31. An individual Registrant can register a visit from one (1) to thirty (30) days in advance of the proposed date of the visit; no registration will be allowed on the proposed date of the visit or more than thirty (30) days prior even if the daily capacities are not full.
    32. Each individual registrant and/or each individual Internet Protocol Address or email address can register one (1) visit only per thirty (30) days.
    33. The Registrant should be physically present throughout the assigned time slot on the date of visit.
    34. The Registrant may be asked to provide personal information during the registering process for verification purposes.
    35. The Registrant will receive a confirmation e-mail after the registering is confirmed.
    36. The Registrant will receive a reminder e-mail three (3) working days prior to the visit.
    37. No change of the number of visitor(s) is allowed once the registration is submitted. Registrants may reschedule the visit to other dates that are still available through our online registration system at least one day prior to the date of visit. All registrations are not transferrable.
    38. If the Registrant would like to cancel his/her registration, he/she should do so through our online registration system at least one day prior to the date of visit.
    39. Three (3) or more consecutive cancellations (other than late cancellations or no-shows) by an individual Registrant will automatically cause him or her not to be able to register for three (3) months following the last registration date.
    40. Three (3) or more consecutive late cancellations or no-shows by an individual Registrant will automatically cause him or her not to be able to register for the six (6) months following the last registration date.
    41. Unless otherwise approved by TSM, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) shall not be flown wholly or partly within the Monastery. TSM will refer the contravention to the relevant law enforcement agency for investigation.
    42. TSM reserves the right to revise these Terms and Conditions or any other regulations or policies at any time without prior notice or announcement.
    43. TSM has the sole and absolute discretion to decide on all disputes directly or indirectly relating to, arising out of or in connection with the matters thereof, and its decisions in all aspects shall be final and conclusive.
    44. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Hong Kong.
    45. If there is any inconsistency or ambiguity between the English version and the Chinese version of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.

    Privacy Policy
    • In submitting registrations for a visit to the Monastery, requests for cancelation of registrations, registrations for the Programmes and throughout the course of the Programmes, it may be necessary for the Registrants or Programme Participants to furnish personal data (as defined under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486, Laws of Hong Kong) ("PDPO")). Such personal data provided will be used in connection with the Programmes including processing registrations, providing visitor information and compiling statistics, and may be disclosed or transferred to persons, companies, bodies organizers and supporting organizations relating to the Programmes for the purposes stated above. TSM is committed to ensuring that all personal data provided to it are handled in accordance with the provisions of the PDPO.
    • Under the PDPO, the data subject has the right to request access to and/or correction of personal data in accordance with the provisions of the PDPO. Any such request for access to and/or correction of his/her personal data should be made in writing:
